
She was born January 9, 1933 in British Guiana, South America the daughter of the late Alexander and Flora Blair.
Ginny grew up in Virginia and attended Averett College in Danville, Virginia. She married the love of her life, Thomas P. Moore Jr, (Tom) on March 6, 1953. Tom and Ginny were happily married for 61 years until Tom’s death in 2014. They moved from Raleigh to Wilkesboro, North Carolina in 1964. Ginny was a Teacher’s Assistant at Wilkesboro Elementary School for many years. Along the way they raised 4 sons.
Ginny loved First United Methodist Church in North Wilkesboro. She sang alto soprano in the Choir and was Director of the Youth Choir. The musical “Celebrate Life” was a Youth Choir hit and an encore performance was given in Ginny’s honor in 2012. For many years Ginny was the Wedding Director of the Altar Guild.
Tom and Ginny loved to spend time sailing “The Contagious” on Lake Norman. Ginny also loved to travel . She and her dear friend Betty Hicks traveled the world. Ginny loved to play tennis and bridge with her friends in Wilkesboro.
She is survived by her brother David Blair (Ann), four sons, Thomas Patrick Moore (Ann), William Daniel Moore (Karen), Robert Blair Moore, and David Reid Moore. She has 4 grandchildren, Rachael Moore Glisson (Wes), Samantha Moore, Thomas Moore (Hannah), Cole Moore, and 5 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, February 14, 2019 at the Chapel of First Presbyterian Church, 125 S. 3rd St.

A most heartfelt thank you to Ginny’s daughter-in-law, Ann Moore, who was Ginny’s friend and advocate during Ginny’s 5 years in Wilmington. They shared much happiness.
Thank you to Altrimese Davis (Mese), Ginny’s Elder Care companion and true friend who was always by her side. And thank you to the third floor nursing staff at Cape Fear Hospital and the gentle compassionate staff at Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
