

William Fennell Johnson, 77, of Wilmington, died Friday, February 7, 2014, at home. Bill was born March 29, 1936 in Castle Hayne, NC, son of the late Eddie Bascom Johnson and Rosa Burton Johnson. Two brothers, Henry and Arnold Johnson, preceded him in death. Mr. Johnson proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a proud member and deacon of Wrightsboro Baptist Church and served on numerous committees there. Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Jane Johnson; three daughters, Dorinda Warlick of Wilmington, Shannon Enzor (Brooks), and Robin Turner (Dean), all of Whiteville, NC; six grandchildren, Kody Warlick, Kendall Warlick, Lloyd Enzor, Logan Enzor, Elliott "Dalton" Turner, and Chase Turner; four brothers, Eddie Johnson (Robbie) of Louisiana, Howard Johnson of North Carolina, Paul Johnson (Elise) of Florida, and Jerry Johnson (Sheila) of North Carolina; four sisters, Janice Stubbs (Danny), Martha Summerlin (J.C.), Sylvia Jones (Ashley), and Rosa Webb (Steve), all of North Carolina; an uncle, Murdick Johnson (Jean) of Cary, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1pm to 2pm Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at Wrightsboro Baptist Church. The funeral service is scheduled to follow at the church at 2pm Wednesday with Rev. Brad Harrison officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bill's memory to Wrightsboro Baptist Church Building Fund, 2736 Castle Hayne Road, Wilmington, NC 28401.
