He was born July 23, 1951, in Brooklyn, NY, to the late John Edward Flynn and Alice McLaughlin.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, John Michael Flynn.
Survivors include his wife, Stephanie and sons, Matthew and Will.
Bill “Irish” was a loving and devoted husband and father.
He was proud to have served in the US Navy for 4 years and in the Naval Reserves for 34 years. Bill retired as a captain and was proud of the fact that he “mustanged” his way up through the ranks. He was the former Director of Support Services for the NYPD and later Deputy Director of DHS.
Bill loved his home; his backyard was his pride and joy. He was an honest and fiercely loyal man. Our world is a better place for the time he graced our earth.
