

William Dan Hewett, Jr. ""Billy Jr."", 32, of Hagerstown, MD, died Tuesday, September 23, 2008. He was born in Wilmington, NC, on July 20, 1976. Billy Jr. loved the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and camper as well as being a big NASCAR fan. A graduate of North Brunswick High School and a member of the ROTC, Billy was always very patriotic. He worked as a carpenter and subcontractor for many years. He will be remembered most for his love of family, especially his two sons. Surviving is his mother, Nancy Dingler, and stepfather, Terry Dingler, with whom he had a special bond, of Wilmington; his father, William Dan Hewett, Sr. of Richlands, NC; his wife, Jamie Hewett; two sons, Zachary Hewett and Daniel Hewett, all of Frederick, MD; two sisters, Terri Sullivan of Watha, NC, and Tina Crowell and husband, Christopher, of Salisbury, NC; step-brother, Bryant Dingler; uncle, Retired Chief, Jimmie L. Brown, Jr., of Burgaw, NC; three beloved aunts, Patricia Farrow and husband, Kenneth, of Wilmington, Betty Louise Schumpert of Ware Shoals, SC, and Aunt Elaine of Jacksonville, NC; a very special nephew, David West; special friends, April, Gene, J.T., and Missy; and numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nephews, and cousins from SC, AK, and FL. A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel by Rev. Warren Rivenbark. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel. The family wishes to express a special note of appreciation to Billy's friends in Maryland for all their support and love.
