William Pritchard Moore, III

William Pritchard Moore, III went to be with his heavenly father on March 16, 2009, at St. Mary's Hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee. Bill was born on January 31, 1929, in Ahoskie, NC, son of the late William Pritchard Moore, Jr. and Mary Ethel Moore. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Edna Bowen. Bill grew up in Wilmington, NC and attended New Hanover High School prior to entering the U.S. Army and later the U.S. Navy. He was retired from Shell Oil Company after 30 years of service. Surviving are his wife, Nina Marqueen Moore; a son, William Pritchard Moore, IV and wife, Stephanie, and their two sons, of Vienna, Virginia; two stepchildren, David Kinlaw of Knoxville, Tennessee and his three children, and Nina Conroy and her husband, Dan, of Jacksonville, Florida; a brother, Robert N. Moore and his wife, Peggy, of Wilmington, NC; nephews, Keith Moore and wife, Jill, and their two children, Chris Moore and wife, Aimee, and their two children, and Brian Moore; two brothers-in-law, Lincoln Byrd and H. B. Byrd; and a sister-in-law, Dovie White. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Saturday, March 21, 2009 at Temple Baptist Church by Reverend E. C. Mattocks. Interment will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel.
