He was born December 22, 1942, in Lumberton, NC, to the late William Norris, Jr. and Mary Tart Norris.
William was a Vietnam era veteran and proudly served in the US Navy. After many years of service, he retired from DuPont and then worked part time with O’Brien Service Company. He was a longtime member of The Church of God.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Cameron Norris and sisters, Daisy Johnson and Juanita Ledbetter.
Survivors include his daughter, Deborah Mason and husband Roy of Winnabow, NC; son, William C. Norris IV and wife Donna also of Winnabow, NC; grandchildren, Tiffany and husband Mitchell, Michael and wife Felicia, Sierra and Kayla; great-grandchildren, Johnathan, Kasey, Brooklyn and Emma; brother, Jerry Norris and sister, Marie Williams.
A funeral service will be held at 11am, Friday, May 14, 2021, at The Church of God. The family will receive visitors one hour prior.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
