
William Harold Ufferman of Kure Beach, N.C. died April 27, 2009 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Life Care Center. Bill was born on June 4, 1934 in Delaware, Ohio. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. Bill graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in Accounting. After working in public accounting he worked with and retired from Gulf and Western as a Vice President of Finance and Administration. After moving to North Carolina Bill served as a city Commissioner of Morrisville, N.C. and more recently a Commissioner of the Town of Kure Beach. Bill was an active member of Carolina Beach Presbyterian Church. In addition to his parents Bill was preceded in death by his daughter Deborah Ufferman, his brother Fred Ufferman and sisters Flora Norris and Helen Thompson. Bill is survived by his wife of fifty- five years Carol, sons, W. Douglas Ufferman and wife Lorene of Olive Branch, MS. and Andrew Ufferman and wife Mary of Livonia, MI. He is also survived by six grandchildren, W. Jared and Rachel Ufferman of Olive Branch, MS., and Philip, Dante, Adriana and Domenic Ufferman of Livonia MI., brother, Robert Ufferman and wife Judy of Indialantic, FL., sisters, Lois Maxwell of Monticello AK. and Carolyn Stobby of Ann Arbor, MI. and brother and sister in law, Bruce and Karen Bollenger of Dayton, OH. A memorial service will be held 2pm Saturday May 9, 2009 at Carolina Beach Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends from 1pm until 2pm Saturday at the church prior to the service.
