He was preceded in death by his father.

Mr. Ward worked as a meat cutter for over 30 years. He was a volunteer firefighter with N. W. Volunteer Fire Rescue, and he loved farming.

He is survived by wife: Deborah Ward of the home; sons: Justin Ward and wife Samantha and Matthew Ward all of Leland, NC; grandson, Thomas Ward; mother, Carlene Ward sisters: Magdalene Ward of Leland, NC, Mary Diehl and husband Morgan of Leland, NC, and Judy Ward of Ash, NC; brothers: Robert Ward and wife Celestine of Leland, NC and Roger Ward of Leland, NC.

A Visitation will be held from 6pm to 8pm on Friday, April 11, 2025, at Coble Funeral and Cremation Service at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1155 Shipyard Blvd. Wilmington, NC 28412. A Graveside Service will be held at 11am on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Community Chapel Baptist Church, 2419 Malmo Loop Road, Leland, NC 28451 with Pastor Gordon Powell officiating.
