Yancey Martin Edwards, 32, of Wilmington, NC died Monday, May 4, 2015 at his residence. He was born on January 25, 1983 in Wrightsville Beach, NC. Yancey was a graduate of Hoggard High School. He had worked in several jobs but most enjoyed his work painting residential homes. He will be remembered as a loving father, son, brother and friend. Surviving is his mother, Vickie Edwards Passwaters (Gary); fiancé, Hannah Gastwirth; son, Gatlin Cain Edwards and Gatlin's mother, Shanna Frick (Jeremy) of Snellville, GA and his stepdaughter, Celeste Jones; one brother, Nathan Seabolt of Sidney, Australia; a sister, Ashlee Phillips of Raleigh, NC; an aunt, Marlene Evans of Knightdale, NC; one cousin, Derek Frye (Sakeena) and his daughters, Deiara, Breauna, Cameron and Hayden, all of Knightdale, NC. A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Andrews Mortuary Hampstead Chapel. Entombment will follow in Sea Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society or animal shelter of your choice.
