

David H. Driver Sept. 8, 1920 — Aug. 26, 2016 David H. Driver, 95, of Wilson, passed away Friday. Funeral services will be conducted 7 p.m. Monday at Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home, 2704 Nash St. N, Wilson. The Rev. Rex Edwards will officiate. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday in Evergreen Memorial Park, 2800 Nash St., Wilson. The family will receive friends Monday evening, immediately following the service, at the funeral home and other times at 3109 Edinburgh Drive, Wilson. David was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during World War II. Following the time spent in service to his country, he returned to work in the profession he loved, that of farming. He was of the Baptist faith. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Surviving are his sons, Charles Driver of Wilson, Connie Driver of Nahunta and David Driver Jr. and wife Judy of Rocky Mount; daughters, Shirley Jackson of Stantonsburg, Vickie Driver Larsen and husband Scott of Wilson and Lori Ellis and husband Joey of Wilson; seven grandchildren, Glenn Jackson, Debbie Brewer, Keith Driver, Wendy Hodges, Cindy Atchley, Christy Kite and Taylor Ellis; a step-grandson, Shawn Chase; eight great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, including Leon Driver and wife Audrey. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elva Barnes Driver; parents, William Allen and Luvenia Daughtry Driver; two brothers; two sisters; a son-in-law, Pete Jackson; a daughter-in-law, Kelly Driver; and a granddaughter, Sherry Waters.
