

Esther was preceded in death by her parents; Wingate and Alphia Miller Hayes, three sons; Ronald Moss, Lawrence Moss, and Johnny Moss, one granddaughter Valerie Moss, four brothers and one sister.
She is survived by her five grandchildren; Candice Moss, Chris Moss, Lauren Moss, John Daniel Moss, and Gabrielle Moss, and six great grandchildren.
Esther was born in Wilson County, North Carolina on May, 7, 1933. She will always be remembered as a hardworking woman. She was a member of the Wildwood Free Will Baptist Church. She retired from Ball-Foster Glass Company, and went on to continue to work at Dick’s Hotdogs, Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home and The Sugar Plum. Esther loved to cook, play practical jokes, travel to the beach, dancing and dressing in the best fashion. She had a tremendous love for her family and her canine companion Belle. She never met a stranger, in fact was known to the neighborhood children as their adopted grandmother.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 6, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Evergreen Memorial Park in Wilson, NC. Funeral services are under the direction of Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home in Wilson.
