Eunice Hicks Johnson

Eunice Hicks Johnson, 97, of Wilson passed away Thursday. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 15, 2021, at First Baptist Church, Wilson, NC with Dr. Chris Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson, NC.

The family will receive friends Sunday, November 14, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., at Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home, 2704 Nash St. N, Wilson, NC.

Eunice was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church, Wilson, NC, where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years. Eunice was famous for her fudge, chocolate pie and love of Wilson Tobs baseball. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Surviving are two sons, Roger Johnson (Diane) and Clay Johnson (Susan), both of Wilson; two daughters, Norma Duell (Buck) and Vicky Phillips (Ed), both of Wilson; ten grandchildren: Amanda McGraw (Jeff), Amy Fulcher, Chad Johnson (Beth), Kevin Johnson (Ashley), Emily Phillips, Melissa Fellers (Mason), Jacob Johnson (Becky), Travis Johnson, Phillip Johnson (Tiffany) and Bennett Johnson (Hadley); ten great-grandchildren: Graham, Sydney, Radley, Aubrey, Hollyn, Clark, Addie, Clay, Anna Bennett and Margo; two sisters, Ruth Norris (Robert) of Raleigh and Lovey Jean Devendorf of Chittenango, NY.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oris Leon Johnson; parents, John Morgan and Mary Ella Shelton Hicks; four brothers; five sisters.
