Frank Nicholas Fanelli

Frank Nicholas Fanelli 98, passed away on Friday, August 27 2021.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Giambattista and Julia Fanelli, his wife Alicia D. Fanelli, three brothers; John Fanelli, Paul Fanelli, and Peter Fanelli, and three sisters; Fay Conte, Bella Fanelli and Mimi Waligovsky.

Frank is survived by his son Frank J. Fanelli and wife Carolanne, his daughter Alicia J. Soper and husband Kenneth P. Soper, four grandchildren; Melissa J. Fanelli, Alison S. Rhodes and husband Bobby, Frank G. Fanelli and Kenneth F. Soper, and four great-grandchildren; Christian, Thaddeus, Ruby and Jonah, as well as Suzanne Kustka Costa.

Frank was a wonderful husband, dad, granddad, “GG”, Uncle Gee, brother and Frank to all his many friends and associates in his every day and musical life. He was the consummate professional in his craft as one of the premier bandleaders and entertainers of his time in the entire New York metropolitan area, but primarily on Long Island. He could sing in five different languages and played the Tenor Sax, Alto Sax, Clarinet, Flute and Piccolo. Through the years he was always respected by his peers on stage, and also by all of his loyal clientele.

Frank was a great father, a wonderful husband and a good man. He started his daughter Alicia at a young age with lessons on the flute, which became her passion and lifelong career. After working and saving up $30, he purchased his son Frank his very first electric guitar, which became his lifelong career and passion. He taught his loved ones that it’s always about “La Familia/ Family first”. He was known for spending tons of time with the little ones doing his huge bag of “Schtick” and gags. He was very much loved by everyone, and will be sorely missed. He will always be remembered as the generous and beautiful person that he was.
