Those who knew Frank will remember a man who was deeply cherished—steady in his care for others, gentle in spirit, and quietly strong. Through the years, his devotion showed not in grand displays, but in the dependable ways he loved and provided, meeting life with resilience and the kind of hard work that speaks for itself.
For fifty-three years, he shared a life of commitment and companionship in marriage, building a home rooted in love. He also found joy in visiting the mountains, drawn to the calm and beauty found there—moments that reflected the peace he so often offered to those around him. Above all, he will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.
He is survived by his wife, Nadine Baker; his daughter, Sherry McQuaid (Ken); his son, James Baker, Jr. (Tracey); and his grandchildren, Skyler Baker, Allison McQuaid, and Jacob McQuaid. He is also survived by his brothers, Thomas Baker (Marie), Charles Baker (Debbie), and Don Baker (Linda); and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Joe Baker; his sister, Julia Evans; and his parents, Willie and Bertha Baker.
In the quiet spaces left behind, Frank’s presence will still be felt—in the strength he modeled, the tenderness he gave freely, and the enduring love he planted in his family.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 22nd, from 5pm until 7pm at Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Friday, October 23rd, at 1pm at Evergreen Memorial Park.
