James Calvin Moore

Jimmy served the state of North Carolina as a long time employee of the Department of the State Treasurer. He retired after 41 years of service, where he spent the majority of his career as Deputy State Treasurer. He was honored for his long service with the Order of the Long Leaf Pine.

Jimmy's favorite hobby was playing and watching golf. He was a lifetime fan of the UNC Tarheels.

Pat and Jimmy were well traveled. They were able to visit every state in the USA, at least once, as well as seven different countries.

Some of his favorite things were the monthly Birthday Group gatherings, 40 years of hosting the annual July 4th pig picking at their house on Lake Gaston, and any time his family and friends got together. Jimmy thoroughly enjoyed sharing funny stories and experiences, both his and those of others.

Jimmy is survived by his beautiful, loving wife Patricia (Pat), whom he was married to for 64 years. He is also survived by his three children, Chris, Terri and Judy and their spouses, seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
