James Ronald Shingleton February 28, 1940 – March 31, 2016 James R. “Ronnie” Shingleton, 76, of Stantonsburg, passed away Thursday. A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 4, 2016, in Stantonsburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2016, at Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home, 2704 Nash Street, Wilson. Ronnie was a self-employed farmer in Greene County. In later years, he was known for the good times driving a limousine for Bill Ellis. Ronnie loved music and dancing. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Surviving are his daughter, Renee Flowers and husband, George, of Sims; Renee’s mother, Lynda Campbell of Wilson; one grandson, Logan Butts of Raleigh; and one niece, Lynn Shingleton Lancaster of Eureka. He was preceded in death by his parents, Moses and Bonnie Belle Eason Shingleton; one brother, Garland Shingleton; and one nephew, Bryce Shingleton.
