Jerry L. Rice October 13, 1934 – April 27, 2018

Jerry L. Rice, 83, of Wilson, passed away Friday, April 27, 2018. A memorial service will be conducted 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home, 2704 Nash St. N, Wilson, NC. Rev. Dr. De Eakes and Rev. Kelly Smart will officiate.

The family will receive friends 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service, at Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home.

Jerry was a member of Little Rock FWB Church and Regency Athletic Club. He was also a long-standing member of Wilson Elks Lodge #840. Jerry had a life-long career in the box making industry, retiring from Jefferson-Smurfit Corp. as Plant Production Superintendent with over 20 years of service.

Surviving are his wife, Doris Batts Rice; children, Debbie Johns, Dennie Brewington, and Jerry Grainer, all of WA; siblings, Caroline Jensen, Ron Rice, Roger Rice, and Michael Rice, all of WA; step-children, Kim Wise and Penny Couling; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
