Wilson: Josephine Ferrell Davis, age 85, passed away peacefully in her home June 22, 2023 after a long bout with Alzheimer’s. She was the daughter of the late Daniel Ferrell and Lucy Langley Ferrell and was also preceded in death by her husband Isaac Franklin Davis, two sisters; Mildred Wells and Gilda Wade and a brother Stephen Ferrell.
Josephine retired from Belks and was an avid gardener and traveler. She had a special place in her heart for her family, church family and especially children. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Left to cherish her memory is her son Alton Davis and his husband Bob Rader, her two daughters; Betty Davis Wright and her husband Greg and Amy Davis Deans and her husband Ken, her brother Robert Ferrell, her sister Bertie Ferrell, three grandchildren; Erica Wright Welton and husband Chris, Dawson Wright and Tripp Deans and a great grandchild Andersen Welton.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at 11 AM in Evergreen Memorial Park. Rev. Eric Vernelson and Pastor David List will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside. Thomas – Yelverton Funeral Service is handling arrangements.
