

Kenneth Alton Pittman August 15, 1938 – November 6, 2016 Kenneth Alton Pittman, 78, of Wilson, passed away Sunday. A graveside funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 9th, in Evergreen Memorial Park. The Rev. Bill Groce will officiate. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home, 2704 Nash St. N, Wilson, and other times will be at the residence. Kenneth was the longtime owner/operator of the Community Mart and was loved by all his customers. He was also a self-employed farmer. Kenneth loved Gospel music and sang with The Craftsmen Quartet. He also loved playing golf. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Surviving are his wife, Tamra Stroud Pittman of the home; three sons, Sandy Pittman of Myrtle Beach, SC, Cameron Pittman and wife, Sarah of Greenville, and Alton Pittman of Wilson; two daughters, Cindy Earp and husband, Stanley of Raleigh, and Kim Finch of Bailey; nine grandchildren, Brooks Pittman, Amanda Peele, Lee Finch, Davie Earp, Hayley Finch, Collin Pittman, Davis Pittman, Ava Pittman, and Connor Pittman; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Edna Harrell of Wilson. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Pittman; parents, Charles Walton and Elizabeth Wheeler Pittman; five brothers; and three sisters. Flowers are welcome and memorials may be directed to Hospice of Wilson Medical Center, 1705 Tarboro St., SW, Wilson, NC 27893.
