Lawrence "Pete" Rowe

Lawrence “Pete” Rowe, 88, of Wilson passed away Tuesday. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 10, 2019, at Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home, Wilson, NC, with Rev. Joe Shakour officiating.

The family will receive friends Thursday, May 9, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home located at 2704 Nash St. N, Wilson, NC.

Pete pastored churches in both Pennsylvania and New York for over 50 years. He attended Tabernacle Baptist Church, Wilson, NC. Pete was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Surviving are two daughters, Cindi Rowe of Stantonsburg and Karen Beichner (Ronald) of Wilson; one son, Kip Rowe (Sue) of Fredericksburg, VA; six grandchildren, Michelle Jewel (Kevin), Michael Beichner, Veronica McLawhorn (Jeremy), Marissa Newman (Jimmy), Miranda Maloney (Josh), and Kyle Vogel (Arianne); eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Carol McGinniss and Shirley Hipwell, both of Titusville, PA.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Kathleen Bangs Rowe; parents, Lawrence Clifford and Evelyn Locke Rowe; two brothers, Donnie Rowe and Buzz Rowe.

Flowers are welcome and memorials may be directed to Tabernacle Baptist Church, 1815 Airport Blvd. NW, Wilson, NC 27893. Funeral services are under the direction of Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home, Wilson, NC. Online condolences may be sent to www.thomasyelverton.com.

I am so sorry for your lost of your sweet dad. Mr. Rowe was a sweet and nice man that I met at Wilson Pines . He always had a great personality and smile on his face. So R.I.P Mr. Pete. God may be with y'all.

you're all in my thoughts and prayers, Pete was a wonderful man and he will always be remembered by me as a caring and loving uncle. fun to be around and enjoyed visiting with, even though I haven't seen him in years. thinking of you Karen, Cindi and Kip, So sorry for your loss. Peggy Thies

We are so sorry for the loss of your father. He was a dear friend of ours and we have many happy memories of your dad and your mother. What a happy reunion that must have been in heaven on Tuesday morning!! Truly our loss has been heaven's gain!
We are so sorry we will not be able to attend the funeral but you all will be in our prayers
