MARIE W. TOMLINSON Marie W. Tomlinson, 92, of Wilson passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2016. Born in Wilson County, August 10, 1923, she had attended school at Rock Ridge, Elon College, and UNCG and had been employed as a schoolteacher until her retirement. She is survived by her daughter, Jane Marie Tomlinson; her grandson, Bert Francis Dooley; her nieces and nephews, Carol and Gerald Summerlin, Margaret and Larry Huey, Carlye and Teresa Morris, Laurie and Tom Callahan, Larry Schwartz, Nancy and Tom Downing, Sue Ellen and Ralph Thompson, Bill Williamson, Ann Williamson and Bern Shen, Ann Harrison and Joe Fay, Charlie and Martha Harrison, Woody and Nancy Harrison, Lil and Mike Wells, Burl and JoAnne Smith; and her devoted friend, Alice Browder. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob D. Tomlinson, her mother Lizzie Flowers Williamson, sisters, Margaret Morris and Laura Schwartz, and her brother, Tommy Williamson. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 311 Nash St., in Wilson. Rev. Dr. Doug Murray and Rev. Steve Clayton will officiate. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Thomas-Yelverton at Evergreen 2704 Nash St., in Wilson. www.thomasyelverton
