Michael Edward “Mike” Pittman, 63, of Wilson, passed away Wednesday. Graveside services in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson, NC, will be private.

The family will receive friends Sunday, May 3, 2020, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., at Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home, 2704 Nash St. N, Wilson, NC.

Surviving are his wife, Gail Caulk Pittman; two daughters, Allison Smith Benitez (Juan) of Raleigh and Susan Renee’ Byrd (Jeff) of Fenton, MO; two grandchildren, Ian Benitez and Lillian Byrd; and one sister, Lynn Pittman Page (Jimmie) of Beaufort, NC.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Edward and Marjorie Thorne Pittman.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Elm City Missionary Baptist Church General Fund, P.O. Box 667, Elm City, NC 27822.

Funeral services are under the direction of Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home, Wilson, NC. Online condolences may be sent to www.thomasyelverton.com.

It sadden me, to hear of Mike's passing. Mike and I was friends while attending Elm City High. We shared a lot of memories together. The last time I spoke with Mike, we was in Lucama, he was working as a electrician and was telling me about him & his wife getting married. I'm gonna miss Mike. RIP classmate.

I came to know Mike through a local
Electrical contractor working with him at work. Mike was a men of integrity, honesty, extremely polite, always! I will miss him, I'm proud to have seen him at local bojangles in Wilson recently and discussed the old times, and the current things we were both doing in our life's Rest in Peace
