Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; James Wesley Edwards and Mary Brown Edwards, one daughter; Cathy Marie Speight, five brothers; James “Buddy” Edwards, William Jonas Edwards, Joseph “Skinner” Edwards, Edgar “King Fish” Ray Edwards, and David Randolph “Randy” Edwards, and two sisters; Nannie “Sister” Ruth Spain and Pauline Joyner.
She is survived by her husband Larry Fisher of the home, one son; Andrew “Andy” David Speight Jr.(Beth) of Kenly, three daughters; Vicky Speight of Jacksonville, FL, Debbie Mitchell(Donald) of Kenly, and Teresa Powell(William) of Bailey, one sister; Barbara Pittman, three grandchildren; Joshua Speight(Denise), Kandice Brown(Alex) and Jayne Marie Speight, and six great-grandchildren.
Peggy will always be remembered as a simple lady who loved her family. She was a faithful member of the United Pentecostal Church in Middlesex. She was a loving mother, wife, and grandmother. She had a great love for gospel music and was one of the founding members of the Pentecostal Lighthouse. She enjoyed Pepsi, fishing, and watching the Nascar races, especially her favorite Rusty Wallace.
A memorial funeral service will be held on Monday, January 24, 2022 at 4:00 pm at Thomas-Yelverton
Funeral Home in Wilson. Family will receive visitors immediately following the service.
