STANTONSBURG — Ronald C. Pugh Sr., 74, passed away Thursday. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018, at Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home, 2704 Nash St. N., Wilson, with the Rev. William O’Neal officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 1 - 1:45 p.m. Sunday at Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home. Ronald was a veteran of the United Sates Navy. He worked as a truck driver for 45 years, retiring from Estes Express Lines. Ronald attended Wilson First Pentecostal Holiness Church. He served as a volunteer firefighter with the Moyton Volunteer Fire Department in Stantonsburg and also served as a captain with the Stantonsburg EMS. Ronald was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Surviving are his wife, Margaret O. Pugh; one son, Ronald C. Pugh Jr. (Susan) of Wilson; one daughter, Sharon Pugh Price (Michael) of Wilson; five grandchildren, Tracey Pugh, David Price, Allen Pugh, Kimberly Pugh and Hannah Price; a great-granddaughter, Madalyn Pugh; a brother, Tony Pugh (Janice) of Engelhard; and a sister, Lynette Sawyer (Howard) of Pamlico Beach. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norville and Hilda Hodges Pugh; and a sister, Jean Gibbs. Funeral services are under the direction of Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home, Wilson.
