Rose Trevathan Johnson, 84, returned to her heavenly home on April 8, 2021. Her lifelong devotion and firm belief in God gave her peace through the last years of her life. Rose was born to the late Hattie Mae and Luther Trevathan in Wilson, NC where she resided for her entire life. Her hands worked tirelessly crafting, volunteering, gardening, cooking, comforting, and praying. Rose was a person of faith that lived a life serving her church and community. As a member of the Forest Hills Baptist Church, Rose participated in the Flower Ministry, Hearts and Hands Sewing Group, Allegra Sunday School Group, Adult Choir, and The Primetimers Senior Group.

Rose’s family was the pride and joy of her life. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, L.J. Johnson; her sisters, Lois Newcomb and Barbara Ann Langston; her brothers Tommy Trevathan, Ray Trevathan, and Charles Trevathan. She is survived by her sister Frances Mayberry of Greensboro; her son Stan Johnson (Nikki) of Wilmington; her granddaughter, Briley Rascoe (Raggs) and her two great-grandchildren, Briar and Charlie of Lewiston-Woodville.
