Albert Douglas McGaha, age 68, of Bogart, GA, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2013. He retired from IBM as a service technician. He was a United States Army veteran and served in the Vietnam War. He attended services at Bogart United Methodist Church. Albert was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean Smith McGaha; his parents, Roscoe Samuel and Annie Maude Jackson McGaha; several brothers and a sister, Eldon Jackson, Sammy McGaha, James “Buddy” McGaha, and Jeneva Coile. Survivors include his son, Richard McGaha of Bogart; a brother, Tommy McGaha of Weatherford, TX; three sisters, Annelle Maxwell of Lavonia, GA, Deloris Belk of Danielsville, GA, and Frances Jordan of Royston, GA; and several nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Smith Funeral Home, Winder. The funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, March 1, 2013 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home. The interment will follow the service at Bogart United Methodist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bogart United Methodist Church. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
