Billy Ray Bentley

Mr. Billy Ray Bentley, age 77, of Winder, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his residence on October 11, 2025. Billy Ray was born on September 8, 1948, and was a lifelong resident of Winder, Georgia. He was a proud and dedicated employee of Johns Manville, where he worked for many years before retiring. Billy Ray was known for his strong work ethic, kind spirit, and deep love for his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, W.B. Bentley and Lois Bentley, as well as his siblings William (Bud) Bentley, Shirley Bentley Bryant, and Carolyn Bentley Lee.

Billy Ray is survived by his loving sisters; Evelyn Bentley Weatherford, Rebecca Joyce Bentley, Juanita Bentley Jones, and Ruby Bentley Phillips; and by his brothers Bobby Joe Bentley and David Baxter Bentley. He was a devoted and loving uncle to 15 nieces and nephews, and a proud great-uncle to 30 great-nieces and nephews, all of whom cherished him deeply.

Billy Ray will be remembered for his gentle heart, quick wit, and the warmth he brought to every family gathering. His memory will live on in the laughter and love he shared with those fortunate enough to know him.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Barrow Memorial Gardens in Winder, Georgia.
