Rev. Brantley M. Ray, Sr. , age 83, of Winder, passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2015. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and retired from the Bibb County Board of Education, after having taught for 22 years there and in Catoosa, Madison and Gwinnett counties. Rev. Ray was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Priscilla Ray, of Winder; sons, Brantley Ray, Jr., of Winder, and Daniel Frederick Ray, of Orange, Texas; daughters, Brenda Holbrook, of Winder, Debra Dianne Barfield, of Macon, and Karen Ray Brantley, of Alto, GA; grandchildren, Danielle Husband, Benjamin Ray, Phillip Holbrook, Aleisha Holbrook England, and Lauren Brantley; great-grandchildren, Isaac and Max England, Hunter and Christopher Holbrook.
Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, July 21st, beginning at noon just prior to the Memorial service at 2:00 p.m. in Smith Memory Chapel.
