Brenda M Hammond

Brenda Mobley Hammond, age 78, of Winder, GA passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025. She was born on February 11, 1947 in Monroe, GA to Henry Maylon and Flossie Larue Mobley. Brenda married the love of her life in 1965, and they have spent 60 years and 8 months having the time of their lives. She has been a member of Whistleville Christian Church since 1967. They are the longest active members at the church. Together they loved to travel and have been on over 170 trips together. She loved her family, friends, and church family.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her eight siblings that have gone ahead to be with Jesus.

Brenda is survived by her loving husband Dale Matthew Hammond; daughters: Melissa Dale Hammond Shelnutt (Terry Lamar Shelnutt) and Janet Lynn Hammond Salter (Robert Alton Salter, Jr); sister, Emmalene Murphy; grandchildren: Brandon Salter, Nick Salter, Taylor Shelnutt Phillips (Cody), and Tia Shelnutt Manning (Davey); great grandchildren: Sadie Manning, Hazel Manning, and Wyatt Phillips; brother and sisters-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews; and her loving church family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make donations in her memory to Barrow County Christian Academy, a ministry of the Whistleville Christian Church.

A Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, October 9, 2025 from 12:30 pm until 2:00 pm at Whistleville Christian Church, 83 Patrick Mill Rd SW, Winder, GA. Ministers Ray K. Fumea and Terry Shelnutt will officiate the Funeral Service on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at 2:00 pm at the Church. Minister Linwood Smith will officiate the burial on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at Barrow Memorial Gardens, 793 Atlanta Highway SE, Winder, GA.
