Cathy E. Fournier, age 60 of Bogart, passed away Monday, November 26, 2018. She was active member of Bogart United Methodist church for 37 years. Cathy had Downs Syndrome and was the first poster child for The Alabama Mentally Retarded Association in 1965 and 66. She worked for The Kelly Workshop in Athens for 26 years. Cathy was preceded in death by her mother, Carolyn S. Fournier. She is survived by her father, L.T. Fournier of Bogart; her brother, Steven L. Fournier (Mary) of Clarkesville and niece and nephews, Emly Harrell (Chris) of Athens, Steven L Fournier Jr of Clarkesville and Nicholas S. Fournier of Athens. A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, November, 28, 2018 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home, Winder, GA with Rev. Alicia Rothchild officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Bogart United Methodist Church Cemetery.
