Born on May 31, 1984, in Minneapolis, MN, Cheng grew up in a lively home filled with love, jokes, and the kind of chaos only siblings can create. His parents, Nyiaj Nus Muas and Qawm Vaj, raised him alongside Tou (Yim Eng), Xong (Jesse Vang), Houa (Jason Watts), and Joua (Andrew Nelson) - a family that could turn any gathering into a comedy show.
At 13, Cheng met the love of his life, Jennie Xiong. They married at 15, proving that sometimes the heart knows exactly what it wants from the start. Their love story became the foundation of a family: daughter Jocelyn, and sons Carmelo and Colby. they were his pride, his joy, and his favorite people to tease.
Auburn, GA became the home where Chneg built his world. In his work in customer service, he greeted people not just with service, but with warmth, laughter, and sincerity. He had the biggest heart, the quickest wit, and a laugh that could brighten a whole room. He had a gift for lifting spirits, for turning heaviness into light, and for giving generously without expecting anything in return.
Cheng poured it into the things he loved. Basketball was one of his greatest passions, so much so that he named both of his sons after players he admired. Whether he was watching a game, shooting hoops, or debating stats, basketball was his happy place. He also loved producing music and had a natural talent for creating beats. One of the ways he showed his love was through food, especially when he made meals for his greatest pride and joy, his family.
Cheng didn't just live life, he celebrated it. He made ordinary days feel special, turned strangers into friends, and filled every space with humor and warmth. His legacy is joy, generosity, and unforgettable laughter.
To honor him, we encourage everyone to do what Cheng did best: find something to laugh about today and share that joy with someone else.
