Connor Stephen Ghawi

It is with profound sadness that Rebecca and Robert Ghawi announce the passing of their son, Connor Stephen Ghawi, who left this world far too soon at the age of 18. Born on February 16, 2006, Connor was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, and friend. He was a kind soul and a beacon of light and joy to all who knew him.

Connor recently graduated from Winder-Barrow High School in 2024. He was known for his warm spirit and thoughtfulness towards other people. Connor had recently embarked on a promising career at Publix, where he was proud to have earned a promotion to department assistant manager. His dedication and work ethic were an inspiration to his colleagues and a source of pride for his family.

Outside of work, Connor had a deep love for skateboarding and spent many happy hours perfecting his skills at the local skate parks. He cherished the time spent with his close-knit group of friends. Connor also had a keen interest in anything to do with space. He was considering astronomy as a college major.

Connor’s presence will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his sister, Kirsten Ghawi of Winder; his grandmother, Debra Chapman of Jefferson; his aunts: Jennifer Green of Winder, and Rachel Walker of Gillsville; his first cousins: Kelsey Ross, Christian Fletcher, Mackenna Walker, and Brayden Walker; and many second and third cousins. Each of them held a special place in Connor’s heart, and their lives were enriched by his love and kindness.

Connor’s memory will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though his time with us was brief, the impact he made on our lives will last a lifetime.

Time and date of a memorial service to honor Connor’s life is yet to be determined. In lieu of flowers, a GoFundMe account has been created to assist the family with his final expenses.

May Connor rest in peace, and may his light continue to shine in our hearts forever.
