IN THE CARE OF
Smith Memory Chapel
Dolores “Bobbie” Lites Dunahoo
Bobbie was born at Grady Hospital in Atlanta, the city where she was raised and loved passionately. She was born again at the age of 17 at the old Techwood Area Church of God on Hemphill Ave in Downtown, never wavering from her beliefs in Jesus Christ. She was very proud to call herself a daughter of Eddy Miller, a Toronto Canada aerial stuntman “Barn Stormer”. Bobbie was then raised by a loving father that we called Preacher Lites. Bobbie, a devoted wife and mother of five children, made sure that all her children, grandkids and everyone one she came in contact with heard the good news of the Gospel. Please honor her, when you depart, by taking a Daily Bread that she provided.
Bobble learned to play the piano and sing at an early age from her talented mother Clara who could play the banjo and mandolin. She probably played at more churches than the Oak Ridge Boys. In the early 1960s she performed on the radio with her son’s, singing songs she wrote. She later joined a band that brought joy to many an old folks home, pizza parlor, and special event.
Because of her command and memorization of scripture, she was always called on to teach Sunday school at many churches. She especially enjoyed the time spent as the Special Needs Director at New Covenant Baptist Church, being a tremendous blessing to every life she touched.
Bobbie was predeceased by her loving husband of 73 years, Cecil and her precious daughter, Cecelia. Mom was well loved and will be greatly missed by her 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandkids, and her surviving sons and their wives, Weyman & Cassie, Stanley & JoMarie, David & Debby, Donald & Marjorie.
“Well Done my Good and Faithful Servant”. Matthew 25:23
