Don Phillips age 81 of Winder, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2019. He was a native of Cherokee Co, NC. Don retired after 31 years with General Motors and then worked and retired from Akins Ford after 20 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Taft and Ella Mae Bailey Phillips; his wife, Louise Thrasher Phillips; two brothers, Roy and Ray Phillips and two sisters, Irene Hembree and Madeline Holbrook. Don is survived by two daughters, Vickie Phillips of Winder and Debbie Wells (Bo) of Midlothian, TX; a brother, Jim Phillips (Virginia) of Fayetteville; a sister, Cathy Graves of Pigeon Forge, TN; five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 1:00PM Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Barrow Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11AM until service time at Smith Funeral Home, Winder, GA.
