I have just learned of Donnie's passing and am so very sorry for your loss. My name is Laurie Turner, my maiden name is Kellum, and 
I went through all of our school years with Donnie. From the beginning with Miss Rachel's 1st grade, Miss Lena Mae's 2nd grade - (where he teased me to no end and delighted in pulling and breaking the rubber band that held my ponytail) - which always ended with Donnie "banging erasers" on the old oak tree that used to be behind our Bethlehem school. Donnie had the greatest sense of humor and just the right nack to pull off some of the best pranks ever to grace the doors of the "Bethlehem Bobcats" gymnasium. The one thing that I can tell you, beyond the shadow of a doubt, in all the years of our schooling - up to and including our high school graduation in 1974 - is that I never ever saw Donnie be mean or cruel to anyone and he was always willing to help out a friend in need. In fact, I don't recall Donnie ever "meeting a stranger"....because, to me, that was just the kind of Guy that he was....we lost touch after graduation, as most people do, but when my kids & grandkids would pull out my old Yearbooks - it was Donnie Allen's face that they 1st saw (alphabetical you know) and particularly my Son, Jared, would say "Mom, this boy looks like he was a lot of fun"....and I'd reply "You have no idea just how right you are"....and the story telling would begin of all my friends in those photos, but very few could even come close to the always unexpected & hilarious memories that I have because of Donnie Allen & his, sometimes, mischief ways & adventures when we were little kids at Bethlehem Elementary School. I guess it's okay to finally admit that, Yes, I did let Donnie "copy my homework"  better to be "in on his jokes, instead of the target". May God Bless & Keep You. Donnie was my class mate and my friend.  He was a great guy, and he will be missed by many.  RIP Donnie, and we will see you again someday.  Sending love and peace to Donnie's family!

So sorry to hear of Donnie*s untimely death. Clara, our thoughts and prayers are with you and Donnie*s entire family, I saw him only last Saturday and was asking about you. I hope you are recovering from your fall. I know he was a great son, father, and grandfather. So sorry to loose a cousin so early in life. My heartfelt condolences are with the Allen family.  I know I speak for all the cousins when I say that heaven gained a wonderful man with a heart as Big as the sky and a love for his family that was undeniable.  Brooke and Tammy I know that God has assigned your Dad to watch over you throughout your life.  Aunt Clara, Kathy, Marsha and Sandy my God grant you the strength needed to get through this moment.  I pray that you find comfort in knowing that Donnie is in heaven surround by loved ones that welcomed him home.
