Doris C. Worthington

Doris C. Worthington, age 85, of Braselton, GA passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025. She was born in Lilburn, GA to the late Ernest and Sarah Cochran. Doris was retired from the Gwinnett County Board of Education where she served as the School Secretary at Mountain Park Elementary for 30 years. She volunteered with Meals on Wheels in Jackson County. She was a member of Hoschton First United Methodist Church. She loved to paint, play with her cat Lilly, and spend time with friends.

In addition to her parents, Doris was predeceased by her husband, William F. "Bill" Worthington; and her brothers: Charles Cochran and E. H. Cochran, Jr. She is survived by her son, Scott McHugh (Kim Ferruche), and daughter, Tammy Young (Darell Young); three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Saturday, October 25, 2025 from 10:00 am until 11:30 am at Smith Funeral Home, 755 Atlanta Hwy SE, Winder, GA. The funeral service will follow at 11:30 am in Smith Memory Chapel, with the burial in Barrow Memorial Gardens, 793 Atlanta Highway SE, Winder, GA.
