He is predeceased by his parents, Edward and Betty Sue Sims, and his loving wife Donna Lynn Sims.
Ernest is survived by his daughter Donna Marie Vaughn (William Cable); grandchildren: Dylan Vaughn, Dawson Vaughn, and Aliya Moore (CJ Stevens); great grandchild, Willow Stevens; brother, Chuck Sims (Jennifer); sisters: Debbie Sims, Sheryl Brady (Trey), and Melanie Sims; and numerous nephews, nieces, brothers in law, and sisters in law.
Visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 from 2:00 until 4:00 pm. The Funeral Service will follow in Smith Memory Chapel at 4:00 pm.
