

Frances "Darlene" Garmon, age 59, of Dacula, Georgia passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2021. Darlene was born on May 12, 1962 to Robert Thomas and Wynell Warbington Thomas of Dacula. She was a graduate of Dacula High School and played tennis and basketball. Darlene was employed as a fleet service advisor for Gwinnett County Schools. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking, camping, fishing, music, and the Georgia Bulldogs. She loved being "Nana D" to her four grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Darlene is survived by her wife of six years, Karen Kennedy. She is also survived by her son, Heath Garmon of Dacula; daughter Heather (James) McDaniel of Statham; step-children: Josh (Marissa) Day of Monroe, Nicholas Kennedy of Dacula and Jonathen Kennedy of Coulage, MS; brother Donnie (Jackie) Thomas of Jefferson; sister Wanda Jackson of Dacula, four grandchildren: Paisley Garmon, Kayden Day, Hayleigh Day and Carli Day; and nieces and nephews: DeeDee (Wendy Ricker), A.J.(Nikki), Mackenzie, Carson and Caden Jackson; Andrew, Amber, Mason and Emily Thomas; Laura, Brandon, Finley, and Benji Cote; and Peyton and Max Vincent.
A funeral service for Darlene will be held Wednesday, January 5, 2021 at 2:00 pm in Smith Memory Chapel, 755 Atlanta Hwy SE, Winder, Georgia 30680. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. An interment will follow the funeral service at 3:30 pm at East Shadowlawn Memorial Gardens, 87 Scenic Hwy S, Lawrenceville, GA.
Donations in memory of Frances "Darlene" Garmon may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
