Frances Hutchins

“Mae” Frances Hutchins of Winder, GA passed away on October 30, 2016 at Great Oaks Retirement Community in Monroe, GA. She was a longtime resident of Winder, GA and Asheville, NC, where she worked for the National Weather Service, a division of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. She retired in 1982 and returned to live in Winder, GA in 1987. Frances was a devout Christian and a member of the Winder First Baptist Church. She was devoted to her family, and she was a loving and caring friend.

She is preceded in death by her parents Fred O. and Sunie Kennedy Hutchins of Carl, GA; brothers, Andrew of Oak Ridge, TN, Robert of Carl, GA, Grady of Auburn, GA, Harold of Carl, GA, twin brother Fred of Carrollton, and sister Lois Brown of Monroe, GA.

She is survived by sister-in-law Mrs. Fred Hutchins (Johnnye) of Carrollton, GA and twelve nieces and nephews, scattered out from Georgia to Oregon and many great-nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home. The family will be receiving friends on Saturday, November 5, 2016 from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Barrow Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Winder First Baptist Church.
