Smith Funeral Home announces the death of Helen Elizabeth Bachelder, age 88, of Winder, who passed away on Saturday September 1, 2012. She was a member of Winder First Christian Church. She was formerly a secretary for the Barrow County Chamber of Commerce. She was preceded in death by her husband, G. S. "Stet" Bachelder; her son, Steve Power; and her parents, Homer and Drew Willie Helton Bentley. She is survived by a son, Bruce Power; seven grandchildren, Caroline Evans, Stevie Power, Jason Power, Josh Power, Jill Michael, Taylor Power and Vic Power; eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews survive. Visitation will be held Sunday September 2, 2012 from 2 until 4 PM at Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 4PM in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Reverend Jim Brooks officiating. Interment will be in Barrow Memorial Gardens.
