Iris Hunter Leach

Iris Hunter Leach, age 83, of Statham, GA passed away on Monday, June 16, 2025. Iris was born in Jefferson, GA to the late Hubert Hunter and Annie Ruth Booth Hunter. She was a lifelong member of Lebanon Methodist Church in Jefferson where she served as church pianist, taught Sunday School, and sang in the choir. She was a great mom who loved her family. Iris attended Athens Business College and was a bookkeeper for Stiles Properties for 40 years. She was married to the late Robert C. Leach for 35 years.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Iris was predeceased by her first husband, William "Billy" Mann and her grandson, Jonathan Leach. Iris is survived by her sons, Rick (Sara) Mann of Saint Joseph, MO and Thomas (Odessa) Leach of Bogart, GA. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Ryan Leach, Shelly Leach, Jennifer Leach, and Daniel Leach; and three great-grandchildren: Drexel, Auguste, and Leo Leach.

A Visitation will be held Saturday, June 21, 2025 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Smith Funeral Home, 755 Atlanta Hwy SE, Winder, Georgia. The Funeral Service will be Sunday, June 22, 2025 at 3:00 PM in Smith Memory Chapel with Pastors Tony Vismor and Dave Ham officiating. She will be laid to rest at Booth Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested donations be made to Agape Hospice, 1551 Jennings Mill Rd, Watkinsville, GA 30677
