James "Cowboy" Lamar Miller, age 71, of Hoschton, GA passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024. He was born in Lawrenceville, GA to the late James and Mary Ann Miller. Cowboy lived most his life here in Winder, GA. He spent most of his career in construction where he developed his ability to do about anything with wood. Cowboy loved collecting hot wheels and jewelry.
In addition to his parents, Cowboy was preceded in death by his daughter, Brandy Wilder; brother, Samuel Miller; and brother in law, Marc Smith. He is survived by his son, Sam (Ashley) Miller of Winder, GA; Grandchildren: Katie Miller, McKinley Miller, and Blane Wilder of Winder, GA; Sisters: Karen Cannon of Toccoa, GA and Kathy Smith of Winder, GA; and brothers: Wayne (Dinah) Miller of Auburn, GA and Jackie (*Bonnie) Miller of Carnesville, GA.
A visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at Smith Funeral Home from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at 2:00 PM in Smith Memory Chapel. James will be laid to rest in Barrow Memorial Gardens.
