

James (“Jim”) Thomas Stockton, Sr., age 93, of Statham, GA passed away on April 27, 2026. He was born in Delaware County, PA, and later moved to NJ. In high school he played football and was on the track team. Jim served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1951 until 1959. He had a career as a Quality Control Manager for the Eaton Corporation in PA. Jim was always looking for ways to serve. Jim was appointed by the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court of Camden County, NJ, to serve on the Juvenile Conference Committee for Haddon Heights from June 1974 until December 1975. While a resident of Haddon Heights, Jim faithfully served as a Deacon at his church, worked in the children’s ministry, and sang in the church choir. He was also a volunteer on the ambulance squad. After retiring, Jim and his wife served as bus aides for special needs children in Medford Township, NJ. He was a big fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and enjoyed watching soccer matches. Jim enjoyed the outdoors. He loved hiking at The Pinnacle in PA among other places, enjoyed walking along the Boardwalk in Ocean City, NJ, and also spending time planting and maintaining the flowerbeds at his home. In 2017, Jim and his wife moved from NJ to GA, and then settled in Statham, GA in 2018. He later began attending Calvary Baptist Church where he was a part of the Joy Club.
Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Isabella Stockton, his daughter-in-law (wife of son James), Sue Stockton, and son, Keith Garrison. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor (“Ellie”); sons: James T. Stockton, Jr., Mark Stockton, and Kevin (Tracy) Garrison; daughters: Darlene Stockton, Sherry (Mark) Ruckdeschel, and Sue (Scott) Craig; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
