James Royce "Jimmy" Strickland, age 84 of Statham, GA, passed on September 19, 2026. He was born in Winder to the late Royce "Trigger" and Bernelle "Boots" Strickland. He was a graduate of Winder High School. He was a member of People's Baptist Church in Jackson County. Jimmy was a pastor and was employed with Blessed Hope Baptist Church in Eatonton, GA. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, and working on things, especially repairing televisions.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of sixty years, Polly Ann Strickland; children, Mark Tracy Strickland of Statham, GA, and Tina Marie (Dennis) Roberts of Hull, GA; two grandchildren, Brittany Elaine (Jesse Waters) Brooks of Honey Path, SC, and Johnathan DavisRoberts of Hull, GA; one great-grandchild on the way; brother, William "Danny" Strickland of Kissimmee, FL; two nieces; and two nephews.
The Visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home, 755 Atlanta Hwy SE, Winder, GA, on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm in Smith Memory Chapel with the burial to follow at Barrow Memorial Gardens.
