Jimmy 'Pop' Gilreath

Jimmy 'Pop' Gilreath, age 82, of Winder, GA passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023. Jimmy was born in Dawson County to the late Jessie Roland Gilreath and Norman Gilreath. He was of the Baptist faith. Jimmy was a shipping clerk for Barrow Manufacturing in Winder and later worked at Hill's Ace Hardware. He loved being in the outdoors, gardening, and being on his tractor. He was a loving and caring person and husband.

In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his brothers: Herbert Gilreath, John Gilreath, and Bud Gilreath; and his sisters: Wilma Day, and Savilla "Sis" Sanders. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Evelyn. He is also survived by his brother, Roy Gilreath of Statham, and sister Brenda (James) Jones of Bethlehem; and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Jimmy will be held Thursday, December 14, 2023 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home, 755 Atlanta Hwy SE, Winder, GA. The Funeral Service will be Friday, December 15, 2023 at 11:00 am in Smith Memory Chapel, with Chaplain Danny Parks officiating. The Burial will follow at Barrow Memorial Gardens.
