

Joan Gonzales, born August 25, 1937 in Alamosa, Colorado passed away December 27, 2021 peacefully in her sleep. Predeceased by her husband Desiderio Gonzales; sons: Desiderio Gonzales, Jr and David Grant; grandson: Michael Johnson; her parents: R.M. and Carolina Medina; siblings: Ed Medina, Eloy Medina, Sonny Medina, Jane Manzanares, and Lilly Mergildo.
Survived by her loving family, daughters: Georgine (Jimmy) Johnson, Unas Gabree, and Terri Izen; son: Milton (Kelly) Gonzales; grandchildren: Krystal, Vanessa, Nathan, Dana, Carmen, Katie, Joel, Nikki, Seth, Brandon, Kody, JR, Jimmy, and Tony. She is also survived by 28 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She loved her family, loved to sing, loved to read and color in coloring books. She loved music, old western movies, and word search puzzles. Her favorite author was Max Lucado, she was a prayer warrior and her treasured book was her Bible. She loved her church family and never met a stranger. Her wit and humor will be greatly missed. She leaves nothing but beautiful memories of how she loved the Lord and her family.

A visitation for Joan will be held Monday, January 3, 2022 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Smith Memory Chapel, 755 Atlanta Hwy SE, Winder, Georgia 30680. Following the visitation, a graveside service will be held at Barrow Memorial Gardens.
