Joan Ellen Gotham, age 70, of Hoschton, GA, passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2012. Joan was born to the late Clyde Russell and Marguerite Adamson Allen. She enjoyed many sports and leisure activities such as fishing, golf, baking, and cooking. Joan was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church in Calumet, MI. She enjoyed summers in northern Michigan and winters in Georgia. Joan was preceded in death by her sisters, Carol Johnson, Judy Gullett, and Patty Hammond. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Dick Gotham of Hoschton, GA (also a longtime resident of Lake Linden, MI); her son, Jeff Gotham of Hartwell, GA; two daughters, Kim (Walt) Irizarry of Andover, NJ and Michelle Gotham of Dunwoody, GA; four brothers, Bill (Vicki) Allen of Lake City, MI, Roy (Geri) Allen of Hillman, MI, Rick (Chris) Allen of Gladwin, MI, and Robert “Butch” (Lois) Allen of Madison Heights, MI; and three grandchildren, Zach, Sarah, and Jake Irizarry. A memorial service is pending. Smith Funeral Home, Winder, GA, is in charge of the arrangements.
