Joanne E McDaniel, age 86 of Bethlehem, GA, passed away on October 3, 2026. She was born in Tucker, GA, to the late Lester and Linda Turner. She moved to Barrow County in 1970. She was a member of Mountain Creek Church in Walton County. She was a dedicated homemaker who loved her family. Joanne was a very strong and independent lady. She loved people and her dogs. Gardening was her hobby.
In addition to her parents, Joanne was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin McDaniel; and her brothers, James Turner and Billy Turner. She is survived by her children: Keith (Holly) McDaniel and Lisa (Burland Stephens) McDaniel; brother, Norris (Sherrie) Turner; eight grandchildren: Brandon, Madison, Catherine, Caige, Katie, Bryleigh, Dustyn, and Spencer; and seven great-grandchildren.
A Visitation for family and friends will be held at Smith Funeral Home, 755 Atlanta Hwy SE, Winder, GA, on Thursday, October 8, 2026, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Her Funeral Service will be in Smith Memory Chapel on Friday, October 9, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
