Joyce Hightower

Joyce Ann Hightower, age 72 of Winder passed away Sunday, July 27, 2014. She was a member of Hope Baptist Church. She served in the US Army and retired as an office manager for Instrument Care Unlimited. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Gilchrest and Stella Taylor Scales. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Hightower of Winder; two sons, Jerry Hightower,Jr (Stacy) of Aubry,TX and James Hightower (Kim) of Statham; a daughter, Jennifer Joyner (David) of Sylacauga, AL; two brothers, Albert Scales of Hiram and Jimmy Scales of Woodland, AL; three sisters, Patricia Driskell of Winder, Linda Carlisle of Ila and Brenda Berky of Fleetwood, PA; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 29, 2014 from 5 until 7 PM at Smith Funeral Home, Winder, GA. Graveside services will be 2 PM Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Barrow Memorial Gardens with Pastor Steven Smallwood officiating. Arrangements under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Winder, GA.
