Lawrence O'Neal Greene

Lawrence O’Neal Greene, 75 of Hoschton, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2025. He was a native of Atlanta and a recent 20-year resident of St. Simon’s Island, GA. He was a graduate of East Atlanta High School and retired in cyber security for Bell South after 42 years of service, where he wrote many methods and procedures for computer safety. He also served his country in the United States Coast Guard Reserve. Larry was a member of Frederica Baptist Church on St. Simons for the past 10 years where he was a faithful member that served in many positions. Having a heart like Christ, Larry loved to serve, not only in his church, but all over his community. He volunteered at Southeast Georgia Health System for nearly all of the 20 years he lived in the Golden Isles. He was a man of many talents that could do anything he put his mind too. He took a lot of pride in what he did and loved working in his yard. He and Linda, his loving wife of 35 years, spent lots of time traveling the world, making several trips to Europe and other places around the globe. Larry also loved UGA Football, but most of all he loved his family.

In addition to his wife Linda L. Greene of Hoschton, Larry is survived by his son, Jason Greene of Chamblee; daughters, Angie Isbell (Warren) of Hoschton and Rene’ Miller (Kevin) of Canton, OH; a brother, Doug Greene (Pam) of Young Harris; a sister, Cathy Coon (Frank) of Wilmington Island; five grandchildren: Callie Miller, Lindsey Porter (Kyle), Hayley Sims (Matt), Cassie Miller and Zach Isbell (Kaia); and two great-grandchildren, Tucker and Molly Porter. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Rowland.

A celebration of Larry’s life will be held at 1PM November, 22, 2025 at Frederica Baptist Church on Saint Simons Island. Donations in Larry’s memory may be made to Frederica Baptist Church.
